Privacy policy.
What our sites collect when you visit, read, listen, download a report or pitch yourself as a guest, who processes it, and how to reach us about your data.
Who is responsible
Hodl Up SH.P.K., based in Prishtina, Kosovo, is responsible for our sites and for the personal data described here. You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@hodluppod.com.
This policy covers hodluppod.com, including our research reports.
Analytics
We use two analytics services on hodluppod.com to understand which pages people read and how they find us.
- Google Analytics 4, only if you agree. On your first visit, a banner asks whether we may use Google Analytics cookies. If you accept, Google Analytics loads and sets cookies, and information about your visit, such as the pages you view, your browser and your approximate location, is sent to Google, which processes it under its privacy policy. If you decline, it doesn't load and nothing is sent to Google. You can change your answer at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts page views and measures how quickly pages load. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and doesn't fingerprint visitors, so it runs for everyone.
Hosting and security
Our sites are served through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and the details of each request to deliver pages and protect them, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Cloudflare's bot protection runs on the site, including a JavaScript check that tells people apart from automated traffic and AI Labyrinth, which traps unauthorized AI crawlers. It may set the cookies __cf_bm and cf_clearance. They are used only to keep the site secure, never for analytics or advertising.
Our own editing tools sit behind a sign-in for the Hodl Up team.
What we store in your browser
Two settings are saved in your browser's local storage so the next page remembers them. They stay on your device and are never sent to us:
- hodlTheme: light or dark mode, if you switch.
- hodlConsent: your answer to the cookie banner.
Clearing your browser's site data removes them.
Embedded players
Episode pages include a Spotify player and a YouTube video. Both load only when you press play. Once loaded, these players are provided by Spotify and YouTube (Google), which may set cookies and collect information under their own privacy policies: Spotify's and Google's.
Guest pitches
The form on our contact page asks for your first and last name, email address, social handle, company, role, the topic you'd like to discuss and any links you'd like to share. When you send it, these details are added to our Mailchimp audience, tagged as a guest application, with your pitch saved as a note. Ticking the consent box also adds you to the Hodl Up mailing list, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.
Only one person at Hodl Up can see the pitches. If you'd like yours deleted, contact us however suits you, for example at info@hodluppod.com, and we'll remove it.
Report downloads
Before you download one of our research reports, the form under the report asks for your first and last name and your email address, and, if you like, your company and your role. When you send it, the download starts, and these details are added to our Mailchimp audience, tagged with the report you downloaded. Ticking the consent box also adds you to the Hodl Up mailing list for occasional research and podcast updates, which you can unsubscribe from at any time with the link in any email we send.
If you'd like your details deleted, contact us however suits you, for example at info@hodluppod.com, and we'll remove them.
Interviews for our reports
When we interview someone for one of our reports, we ask them to sign a document agreeing that we may use the interview and their words as contributions to the report.
If you email us, we keep your message and address to reply and to follow up. Our email is handled by our email provider, Namecheap.
Your rights
Kosovo's Law No. 06/L-082 on Protection of Personal Data applies to the personal data we handle. It gives you the right to see the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how we use it.
To make a request, email info@hodluppod.com. We reply within 30 days. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to Kosovo's Information and Privacy Agency.
Children
Hodl Up isn't aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data about them.
