How Hodl Up sources, checks and corrects what it publishes: the news, research and guides on this site, and the conversations on the podcast.

Who we are

Hodl Up is an independent crypto media and publishing company based in Prishtina, Kosovo. We publish news, research and guides on this site and long-form interviews on the Hodl Up Podcast.

Atis Shala and Dren Hima, Hodl Up's co-founders and hosts, are responsible for what Hodl Up publishes.

Every article names its author, and each author has a page listing their bio and everything they have published. The team is on our About page.

What we publish

  • News: short reports on regulation, court cases, markets and companies in crypto and prediction markets.
  • Guides and research: explainers for readers new to crypto, and longer analysis and reports.
  • Podcast episodes: interviews with founders, researchers, investors and builders.

News items never include opinion. Opinion and analysis are published separately, usually as blog posts.

Posts published on behalf of a partner are labelled "Press release" above the headline, with a note explaining the relationship, and their outbound links are marked as sponsored. See our disclosures for how sponsorships work.

Sourcing standards

Our primary sources are the interviews we do ourselves, with founders, builders, researchers and decision-makers. Our secondary sources are official ones: government websites, agencies and official company announcements.

We link to a source whenever there is one to link to.

When we can't name a source, the story says so, for example by attributing the information to "an anonymous source".

How news is verified

Every news item is edited by Atis Shala or Dren Hima before it is published. When we report a claim we haven't been able to confirm, we state explicitly that it is unconfirmed.

We check prices and other market data against sites such as CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko.

Use of AI tools

We use AI to find news in the blogs and announcements of official agencies and government authorities, and to summarize it. Our team then edits each item before publishing it.

AI is never used for opinion pieces.

Corrections

If you spot an error in anything we publish, email info@hodluppod.com with a link to the page and what is wrong.

When a published article is changed after it goes live, its byline shows the date of the update.

We review every reported error within two working days. When we correct a fact in an article, we fix it and add a note at the end saying what changed and when. Errors in a podcast episode are corrected in the write-up on the episode's page.

Not financial advice

Nothing we publish is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Crypto assets are volatile and high-risk; do your own research and speak to a licensed professional before making financial decisions.
