Publisher and funding

Hodl Up is an independent crypto media and publishing company based in Prishtina, Kosovo, founded by its two hosts, Atis Shala and Dren Hima. It is published by Hodl Up SH.P.K., a company registered in Kosovo.

Hodl Up hasn't received any money so far: we pay for everything with our own money. In the future we aim to be paid for production, content creation and sponsorships.

Holdings

We hold crypto assets, but we have no stake in the companies we host on the podcast. We don't trade: we buy and hold.

Nobody at Hodl Up advises or works for a company we cover.

Sponsorships and paid episodes

One episode was part of a sponsorship in which no money changed hands: From Idea to Execution: Building a Trading Platform on Solana, with Anas Khader of Flash Trade.

Posts published on behalf of a partner are labelled "Press release" above the headline, with a note explaining the relationship, and their outbound links are marked as sponsored.

There are no affiliate links or advertising on the site yet. When we publish affiliate posts, they will be marked as affiliate posts.

How guests are chosen

No one can pay to be a guest: we don't sell placements on the podcast. We choose guests who have earned an episode through what they build and do. For some content pieces, a guest may pay the production and content costs.

Anyone can pitch themselves as a guest through the form on our contact page.

Guests don't usually review an episode before it's published. The exception is when we're working on a report and need more direct information and figures from them.

Media passes and travel

Our team travels to industry conferences to speak directly with founders, builders, researchers and decision-makers. We accept free media passes, but we have always paid for our own travel and accommodation. When a conference gives us media passes in exchange for coverage, we mark that coverage as a media partnership.
